The Simple Vue Academy’s mission is to create a sustainable pathway to entrepreneurship by providing scholars grade 6-12 with a STREAM based education, guidance on business and financial management and a village of support

SEEING THINGS WITH A SIMPLE VUE

The Simple VUE Academy is built upon a strong foundation of core principles, which serve as the pillars of our institution. These guiding principles are as follows:

When students have agency in their education, they become empowered to be in control. In our classrooms, we value student voice and choice. It means students can explore what they’re passionate about and share their ideas and opinions. Together, we make decisions and create lessons that matter to us.

We Are Stronger Together. Ubuntu, a bantu saying meaning “I am because we are.” We know that we can’t do everything alone. We rely on our community to support us as we learn and grow. We help each other on our journey to becoming the best we can be.

We take from Albert Bandura’s idea of “self-efficacy.” It means having confidence in ourselves and our abilities. When we believe in ourselves, we can make decisions and choose the right actions for ourselves. We have the power to take charge of our own learning and make choices that will help us succeed.

Show your support

We understand the value of your time, which is why we greatly appreciate the input of our community members and families regarding our school’s formation. The feedback we receive from surveys, including yours, has the power to directly impact the lives of thousands within our school community. By addressing educational challenges and beyond, your participation for just 7 minutes can make a significant difference in the lives of numerous individuals.

Our primary goal of the STREAM Camp is to provide students with a comprehensive STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading/Writing, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) education with entrepreneurial mindset development and financial literacy. Our camp is a two-week camp designed to offer students the opportunity to engage in hands-on, experiential learning. This approach allows students to apply their knowledge in practical ways, deepening their understanding of these subjects.

How will this years camp be different than last?

At this years STREAM Camp, will offer more sessions where participants will gain a deeper understanding of financial concepts and investment opportunities, leading to improved financial decision-making. Additionally, we’ll provide more outdoor experiences, group projects, and a supportive environment, where students will have the chance to build self-confidence, teamwork skills, leadership abilities, and a sense of belonging.

An added field trip to Ponce City Market!

This year we will offer a field trip to Ponce City Market, located in the historic Sears, Roebuck & Co. building. Ponce City Market is a thriving mixed-use development that offers a unique blend of history, culture, and entrepreneurship. Students will learn about the transformation of the old Sears building into a modern hub for innovation and business. Students will also have the opportunity to explore the various businesses within Ponce City Market.
